10 Lessons Learned in 10 Years

This year, SCRIBERS[HUB] turns 10. To mark the anniversary, we’re sharing one lesson each month from a decade of matching brilliant minds with demanding briefs.

Insight #6: The Best Writers Don’t Just Write.

Ten years ago, a typical brief looked something like this: „We’ve got the strategy sorted. We just need someone to write it up.“
That brief still exists. But it’s increasingly not the interesting one.
What we’ve noticed (gradually, then quite suddenly) is that the smartest organisations now bring writers in before the strategy is sorted. Not to transcribe thinking, but to shape it. To ask the question nobody else thought to ask. To spot that the real story isn’t the one in the slide deck.
Good writers have always been good thinkers. The difference is that clients are starting to treat them that way.
The briefs we love most don’t start with „write this“. It’s „help us work out what we’re actually trying to say”.
Has the writer’s role changed in your organisation over the last ten years?
