Tobias Lobe, CEO spot on news AG
What does content mean for you?
Absolutely nothing! Seriously: The term "content" is a soulless buzzword that can stand for anything and nothing. For example, a product description, a Facebook post, a caption, or even a sophisticated, exciting, entertaining, or informative text. I reluctantly accept the word, however, until other terms are found that help distinguish valuable content from irrelevant content. But I'm optimistic that this will happen. After all, the first cars were all called "snoozy cars," and today there are significantly more terms for automobiles.
What was the worst content you met?
I listened to a lengthy presentation about Payback's content marketing strategy, during which the speaker sang the praises of the content in their new app. After half an hour, I asked, curious, what kind of content the brand actually offered. The answer: discount codes! Strictly speaking, the man was right. But this example also illustrates that the term "content" urgently needs to be differentiated. Because a good discount code is not the same as good poetry.
How does good content work?
Through reflection, discussion, research, and formulation. But above all, through curiosity and passion.
Complete the sentence: Good content is always…
… more expensive, but also more valuable.
