The input of freelancers is like salt in soup. But what makes a good freelancer? In the interview series "Text Whispers," Sabine Fäth, founder of SCRIBERS[HUB], asks everyone who values working with freelancers.
This time with Stefanie Wille, Creative Director Content at BISSINGER[+]
1. Are there situations where your own network is insufficient for finding a freelancer? What are they?
Yes, of course that exists. Despite an extensive network, there are naturally niche topics that require the specialized knowledge of freelance writers. It becomes even more difficult when time constraints or popular vacation periods are added to the mix.
2. What was your best experience with a freelance copywriter/journalist/author and why?
There are many such moments: They are always impactful when an external perspective on the task opens up new avenues. And when fundamental requirements of the assignment have been thoughtfully considered.
3. The advice I would absolutely give to freelance copywriters/journalists/authors is…
Reliability is essential. This also means declining an assignment if the task is unclear, doesn't suit your skills, or if you don't have enough time. This avoids misunderstandings on both sides and helps you establish a clear profile.
4. My most important principle when dealing with freelancers is…
Open communication. This is the best basis for sustainable coexistence and successful collaboration.
